Internet dating?

What do you think? Is it weird or totally cool?

Hooking up via Internet

My opinion on Internet dating is that I’m not into it. I like to meet someone first, and then talk to them via email. There are a lot of crazy people in this world, and you never know who you’re getting when you talk to a stranger online. I think people need to start communicating more in person. We have become a society of insecure beings. If you’re looking for a date just say “Hello” to that person you’re attracted to. The worst thing they could say is that they’re not interested. Internet dating works for some people, and I’m not trying to knock it. I hope the best for all the people who have made Internet dating a positive way to meet a companion.

Not for me

Why date on the internet when you can date in real life? It’s half as interesting and you’re half as likely to be just as happy. It just doesn’t make much sense to me.

Nope...

Not so much my thing either…I mean the exception would be if i met a girl in person, then started talking online with her because she lived far away or something else…but other than that…no eHarmony, no cybersexxxx…nope

online dating leads to..

There are an array of of things that online dating leads to. Just watch the news and you’ll see how many people are arrested for endangering the welfare of a child. Police officers pose as young men and women just to send child molesters to jail. I believe that online dating is not safe in any way, shape or form. If you’re going to date someone then you should meet the person face-to-face. You don’t know who lingers on the other side of the computer screen. Freaky, huh? What if you were victimized by an Online predator, while all you thought he/she was was a 20 something looking for a relationship? You never know in these situations and all of the caution in the world should be taken.

Creeps

there are also people who get what we call “internet phobias” and refuse to accept the com-pew-ter as a means of communication, and are afraid if someone even talks to them…these people generally have a tough time functioning in society, as they tend to take everything on a literal level…however the internet is great for business networking and the like…I found this internship at a random ass website, and look where I am now!

communication on a different level

I think it’s one thing if you know the person and are talking to them, but it is another thing if someone is trying to talk to you who you do not know. I don’t think it’s necessarily an “internet phobia,” but simply a barrier between that person and the person in which they do not know. If someone IM’ed you and said, “Hey my name is Bob and I live in L.A., you wanna chat,” wouldn’t you get freaked out. If someone doesn’t want to talk to another person via the internet then I don’t think they necessarily take everything on a literal level. They are just keeping their guard up and protecting themselves from a world which is at times…. scary.
