SUNY Brockport Men's Basketball looks forward to upcoming season

The SUNY Brockport Men’s basketball team takes to the court to open up their 2008-2009 season this Saturday in the Johns Hopkins tournament against Whitworth University. Last year the Golden Eagles went 21-8 overall and 14-2 in SUNYAC conference play and just missed the NCAA tournament.

Theater students for sale

MCC loses to Lewis & Clark in soccer nationals

Maura Martin (Gates Chili) scored for Monroe Community College as the Tribunes fell 4-1 to Lewis & Clark of Godfrey, Ill., in the first round of the NJCAA National tournament at Chandler-Gilbert CC in Chandler, Ariz., on Thursday.

Lewis & Clark took a 2-0 halftime lead and a 3-0 lead in the 52nd minute with goals from Kaylee Neutzling, Jamie Buehrle and Kelly Musenfechter.

MCC scored with 17:11 remaining.

In the college spotlight: Maura Martin of Chili

Sophomore sweeper Maura Martin has helped the Monroe Community College women’s soccer team to a 15-4-1 record while earning Region III Player of the Year honors. She has five goals and two assists. She scored twice, including the game-winner, as the Tribunes defeated Mercer County CC 3-2 in overtime in the District G championship game. MCC takes on Lewis & Clark CC today in the first round of the NJCAA Division I national tournament in Chandler, Ariz.

Age: 19.

Major: Undeclared.

Hometown (high school): Chili (Gates Chili).

Danscore scores a big show

The State University College at Brockport’s nationally recognized modern dance program presents Danscore, which will showcase several world premieres by faculty and guest artists.

The program includes choreography by acclaimed dance artist Dianne McIntyre, founder of the dance/music ensemble Sounds in Motion, as well as works by Bill Evans, Darwin Prioleu, Anne Burnidge, Heather Roffe, Maura Keefe and other faculty members.

SUNY Brockport football makes it to ECAC's

SUNY Brockport Football has made it to the post-season for the first time since 2004. They will take on Hartwick College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22 in Hartwick for the ECAC Northwest Bowl.

The SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles have been led this year by senior running back Garrett Lynch who leads the team with 19 touchdowns and 1,278 yards rushing and senior quarterback Zack Luke who has thrown for 2,378 yards and 18 touchdowns. SUNY Brockport and Hartwick last met in 1950.
