International award given to SUNY Geneseo
Colleges around the world have different programs for their students. Some events may be planned around campus or feature inexpensive concerts by big name acts. Representatives from every college think they are the best and that they have implemented extraordinary programs that their students enjoy. But SUNY Geneseo has gone above and beyond, and has won an international award.
The Association of College Unions International, has 700 members worldwide, including schools such as Villanova and Duke. Each year awards are given to schools that not only apply for them, but that have truly stretched their limits to meet the needs of students.
This January, SUNY Geneseo applied for an award for the staff-driven program in hopes of receiving recognition for the late night program. Because of the activity staff at SUNY Geneseo, after 10 p.m. every Friday and Saturday, events and activities are planned in the union for those that want to participate.
