Starry Nites Cafe
This artsy coffehouse fits perfectly within the Neighborhood of the Arts
Is there really any place else in Rochester that Starry Nites Café could fit in? Located in the Neighborhood of the Arts, this café is as artsy as it gets.
And to top that, Starry Nites is in the historic Flatiron building, originally built in 1888 as a boarding house. The building has been through several transitions since that time and is now is a highly sought after place to live. Who wouldn’t want to live above Starry Nites Café?
The coffee
From lattes to iced espressos, the baristas at Starry Nites are busy from open to close. And for those not up to speed on their coffee lingo, be sure to check out the café’s website, that way you can order a Skinny Espresso Macchiato Doppio, and know what you’re ordering.
The beverage menu expands into a unique beer and wine menu to complete the cafés drink options.
What about the food?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner, it’s all served here. At a café like this, the cuisine is there to complement coffee, beer and wine. Dishes like a gourmet Rueben, a Vincent Wrap (roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, baby spinach, roasted red peppers), ARTichoke dip with tortilla chips and a breakfast menu served at anytime completes the bill of fare.

The scene: Dripping with Vincent van Gogh paintings, most notably the “Starry Night” mural on the back wall of the café, this quaint corner coffee bar is inspired almost entirely by the post-impressionist. This gives the café a relaxed ambience perfect for hanging out with friends, or just your laptop.
Almost every night, there is some sort of entertainment — tarot card readings, discussions and live music, usually acoustic, jazz or folk. This Friday, check out Teressa Wilcox (acoustic folk pop), and on Saturday the Jazz Dawgs.
Most requested specialty drink: Lattes and chai lattes.
Parking: University Ave. isn’t exactly known for its exceptional parking, but it’s also not known for its horrible parking. Just note that the café does not have its own parking lot.
